Downloading and updating apps on your iPhone or iPad are usually as simple as tapping a few buttons. If you are one of them, don't worry, it is a common problem that can be fixed in many ways. On this page, all the workarounds are listed below. So go step by step until you address the issue.
Top Tips to Fix Can't Download/Update Apps in iOS 12/11
If some apps get interrupted while downloading or updating, try the following solutions.
Fix1. Sign out and Sign into the App Store
The first thing you need to do is make sure the Apple ID for App Store is right or not. If the Apple ID has no problem, try to sign out and sign in to App Store to settle the issue.
Go to 'Settings' > tap 'iTunes & App Store' > tap the Apple ID > tap 'Sign Out' in the pop-up > tap the Apple ID again and sign in with your Apple ID.
If you're using cellular data or Wi-Fi and have issues with app downloading, try to connect to another Wi-Fi network. To check the Wi-Fi connection, try watching a video from the Internet. Get help if the Wi-Fi is not working.
The iOS Restrictions disables certain features of the iPhone, including the ability to download apps. So, if you can't install an update, the function may be blocked.
Go to 'Settings' > tap 'General' > tap 'Restrictions' > enter your passcode > check 'Installing Apps' and turn on the updating feature.
Fix 5. Check Available Storage
If you don't have enough storage space on your iPhone or iPad in iOS 12/11, you can't download or update apps. Therefore, check how much free space you have and free up iPhone space by deleting unwanted documents and apps.
Go to 'Setting' > tap 'General' > tap 'About' > check 'Available' to see how much free space you have.

Fix 6. Restart Your iPhone/iPad
If the app appears on your Home screen, but is dim or has white with lines on it, don't delete the app. Restart your device, then go to the App Store and redownload the app.
How to restart your device: press and hold down the sleep/wake button until the slider appears at the top of the screen, slide right to turn it off. After nearly 30 seconds, hold down the sleep/wake button again to restart your iPhone/iPad.
Fix 7. Set Date and Time Automatically
iPhone's date and time settings can influence the apps' downloading and updating in iOS 11/12. Therefore, set your date and time to be automatically to solve this problem.
Go to 'Settings' > tap 'General' > tap 'Date & Time' > slide to turn on 'Set Automatically'.
Fix 8. Update to the Latest iOS
Another common solution to many problems in iOS 12 or 11 is to update to the latest version of the iOS, which may solve the issue caused by system bugs.
Go to 'Settings' > 'General' > 'Software Update' > check if there is a new version available, if yes, download and install it on your device.
Fix 9. Restore iPhone to Factory Settings
If you have reached here and tried all the methods above but nothing has worked, you have to erase all the contents and settings on your iPhone and restore iPhone to the factory settings. As this resort will cause data loss, you'd better make an iPhone backup at first by using a free iPhone data transfer tool. EaseUS MobiMover Free highly recommended here is an excellent utility to move to export and import iPhone files with one-click, such as contacts, messages, notes, calendars, voice mails, books, photos, videos, and audios. Why not download and try it now! After all, it's FREE!

Problem #1: What to do if iPhone X messages are out of order
When I’m actively in the Messages app in the middle of a conversation with someone, if I send a message and they reply, their reply will move above my message. To help you image this issue, imagine you text someone, and the reply comes as if they texted you first. Essentially, it causes my messages to come out of order while being received within the same minute or so. I’ve noticed it only occurs with iMessage, and i’ve already restarted the device, toggled the automatic time on and off, and toggled iMessage on and off. Not even sure how this is a problem but definitely not sure how to fix it. This issue has occurred before and after I updated to iOS 11.4.1.
Solution: The only reason we are aware of that might cause this problem is when the device’s date and time are not set correctly. If you are 100% positive that your iPhone X date and time are correct, then the cause may be due to an external factor. To check, try to access your messages in another device and see if your messages behave similarly. If it does, then you have to talk to your carrier or Apple. It can be an issue with your iMessage service or your carrier’s network.
Problem #2: How to recover photos if your iPhone X won’t boot up
I have an iphone X running ios 11 and experiencing boot loop, so I’m very glad that I found your post after many hours of research and reading. This started a few days ago, while on vacation in Kaua’i, when I woke up to find the phone was quite hot. As soon as I touched the home button, it froze, and the phone blinked out and went into boot loop. I had my computer with me, and after playing with the phone for about an hour I connected it to iTunes and got a screen alert telling me that the phone wasn’t able to boot up. I was able to swipe the alert and get into the phone, so I turned on assistive touch and was able to use the phone just fine that way for a couple of days.
Today, on our flight home, the phone wouldn’t charge using the usb outlets on the plane, and when we landed it was completely drained of battery life and back in boot loop. I’ve been trying to get it to respond for hours, and have connected to iTunes multiple times, to no avail. Updating fails (I’m sure it updated recently, anyway), and it’s just stuck in the endless Apple logo/black screen cycle.
One other thing to mention is that during the days when I was using the phone with assistive touch, the home button was quite hot. I’m actually hoping this is a battery issue, because that would at least be repairable. I honestly don’t care if I need to buy a new phone; I just don’t want to lose the thousands of photos & videos that are stored on this phone. I don’t have a recent backup because using iTunes is such a hassle, and iCloud is impractical as a storage option because my photos, etc would be commingled with my kids.
Needless to say, I’m massively stressed by this and would appreciate any insight you might be able to offer!
Solution: We understand that your main concern is to recover your photos but unfortunately, file or data recovery is only possible if your iPhone is working normally. In order to access the device’s internal storage device, the operating system must be working so you can unlock the screen and allow a secondary device (such as your computer) to then transfer the files. There’s no way (using tools available for consumers anyway) to access your phone’s memory unless the phone boots up normally and allow a computer to move files.
Difficult this may be but there’s no sugarcoating with this one. Sure, you can try asking help from companies that specializes in data recovery but given the fact that your phone no longer boots up, we doubt there’s something that they can do to help.
We suggest that you go ahead with a battery replacement to see if it’s just a bad battery issue. Don’t go through Apple’s repair program as they will wipe the phone. That’s part of their standard operating procedure. Instead, we recommend that you visit an independent local service center for the job. Make it a point to the technician that your goal is to see if there’s a battery issue only and that the phone must not be wiped. If replacing the battery won’t work, then you’re out of luck.
Problem #3: How to fix your iPhone X that won’t download updates for apps
My phone is not updating apps not downloading any new ones. My apps need to be updated yet they don’t appear in the App Store update icon. I tried to do all the following but didn’t work:
restarting my device
signing out and back in my Apple ID and icloud
signing in using another Apple ID
changing the billing country
deleting the app and tried to download it again but I completely lost it because I cant download anything anymore
i made sure i have enough storage in my device and icloud
i don’t have the iCloud Store app so i tried to download it, but didn’t download
I am desperate to resolve this issue because I am not able to access my bank app because it requires to be updated to the latest version. Same for many other apps.
Chris young youtube music videos. Solution: There may be an operating system bug that prevents the App Store from working normally. Try clearing the phone’s settings and see if that will help. Here’s how to do that:
Tap Settings.
Tap General.
Scroll to and tap Reset.
Select the option to Reset all settings. This will clear your current iPhone settings without affecting any data.
If prompted, enter the correct passcode for your iPhone to continue.
Then tap the option to confirm all settings reset.
Reboot your iPhone once the system settings reset is finished and then configure necessary features and options according to your previous preferences, when everything was working fine prior to the update installation.
If resetting all settings won’t work, then that’s the time that you factory reset the device. To do that, follow the steps below:
Create a backup of your files to iTunes or iCloud.
Sign out of your iCloud account (if applicable).
Go to Settings.
Tap General.
Tap Reset.
Tap Erase All Content and Settings.
Once the phone has been factory reset, you can then restore it using your most recent backup.
Get your computer ready and then connect your iPhone X using the supplied USB cable or Lightning cable.
Open iTunes on your computer then allow it to recognize your iPhone X.
If prompted with the option to Trust This Computer, tap OK then follow the onscreen instructions to continue.
Select your iPhone X when it shows up in iTunes.
Navigate to the Summary section then click the Restore [device name] button.
If prompted with the confirmation message, click the Restore button to confirm. Doing so will then trigger iTunes to erase your device and install the latest iOS software.
